The 'September Bridal Box' by Something Blue
This is my last review of the Something Blue Box for a wee while. Just taking a break and will re-subscribe closer to our wedding. The September Box is my my fave one yet by Something Blue and contains a mix of beauty products, accessories, sweets, vouchers, and wedding inspiration! There are two boxes that you can subscribe to, the Something Blue Bridal Box which is $45.60 NZD per month, along with $5 shipping, and the Something Blue LUXE Bridal Box which is $77.60 NZD per month, along with $5 shipping. Today I'll be reviewing the Bridal Box which contained 8 items.
1. Wine Labels by Be My Guest
Be My Guest regularly feature in Something Blue's boxes, and for good reason, as they make a large range of stationary products for your big day including: wedding invitations, menus, seating cards, name cards, guest books, labels, and more. Here we have a set of four mini wine labels that fit on a small bottle of bubbles which you can gift to your bridesmaids!
2. Manuka Honey Bath Bomb by Ahhh Bodycare
The first body product in the September Box, is a Manuka Honey Bath Bomb, by Ahhh Bodycare. Ahhh Bodycare make a large range of beautiful smelling products to enjoy in your bath or shower, and as always, their products smell amazing. As soon as I opened this month's box, I could smell this bath bomb and it's left everything in the box smelling delicious. This bath bomb contains natural ingredients such as coconut oil to ensure a moisturising soak, and Manuka Honey. Ahhh Bodycare's entire range is cruelty-free, Paraben-free, and SLS/SLES-free.
3. Cake Popsicle by Sweet Bites Cakes
How stunning is this Cake Popsicle by Auckland-based company, Sweet Bites Cakes!? These would be a thoughtful addition to a bridesmaid box, or at your hens night, and Sweet Bites Cakes can also bring your vision to light for your wedding cake (check out their gallery if you want to see some of the beautiful wedding cakes they have made). This Cake Popsicle tastes as good as it looks - it's creamy, moist, and decadent!
4. Ruby Tuesday Caravan Bar
Ruby Tuesday is a restored 1917 Sprite Caravan Bar which you can hire for any special occasion, including your big day! Subscribers are lucky and have received a wee bouquet of dried flowers as well as a discount voucher to use towards hiring Ruby Tuesday. Caravan bars are a unique way of serving drinks at your wedding, and Ruby Tuesday is a beautifully restored caravan.
5. Essential Night Healer by LuluMili
Next up, we have the Essential Night Healer Cream by Auckland-based skincare company, LuluMili. LuluMili make a range of skincare products that are all-natural, cruelty-free, sustainable, and vegan. The Essential Night Healer is packed full of Vitamin C, which is essential for the synthesis of collagen. It also contains: a Cold Pressed Blend of Pure Essential Oils which contain Vitamins A, E, V, and K; Peach Butter, derived from Peach Kernel Oil; Microcurb, and Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract. It's good to see that there's zero plastic packaging, and the cream itself has a lovely, light fragrance to it. I'm always excited when I see a new, NZ, skincare brand in a subscription box and I haven't quite found the right night cream for me yet, so I'm looking forward to using the Essential Night Healer, and seeing and feeling some results!
6. Something Blue Hair Ties
This cute set of clear, pastel, and baby blue rubber hair ties takes me back to the nineties! They're also surprisingly comfortable and don't rip out your hair when you take them off. These will be cute for Summer!
7. Petal Dangle Earrings by Willow Collective
I've saved my two fave items in the September Box to last, and the first is this pair of beautiful, lilac Petal Dangle Earrings by NZ jewellery company, Willow Collective. These acrylic earrings have a copper base and come in a range of gorgeous shades (they also do not contain nickle or cadmium).
These earrings are ones that I will wear a lot as I just love the lilac and copper together and these look delicate and pretty on. I never even thought of earrings on our wedding day, but these would actually match perfectly with my dress so I might save these until then.
8. Something Blue Gift - Bridal Robe
I was delighted to see this Satin Lace Trim Bridal Robe in this month's Something Blue Box, and I can guarantee that every single subscriber is going to absolutely love their robe. If you've ever tried to photograph white on white, you'll know it's difficult to photograph, and the photo really doesn't this robe justice as it looks and feels wondrous in person. These soft robes have lace detailing at the bottom and on the arms and come in the following colours: White, Dusky Pink, Champagne, Dusky Blue, and Navy (perfect your bridesmaids too). I'll keeping this beauty wrapped in tissue and I can't wait to wear this next year.
Verdict: The September Box had me impressed and there was a good variety of wearable items, beauty products, and wedding inspiration. You'll find over $100 of products in each box, and Something Blue do a great job of changing up the box each month and including items that you will definitely use towards or on your special day. Again, I have paused my subscription for a few months but I look forward to re-subscribing next year. The Something Blue Box will get you feeling even more excited about your wedding and you can subscribe to your own Something Blue Box here.
