The July 'Goddess Box' by Society of Lovely
If you know me, you know that I love subscription boxes all year around (hence why I started blogging about subscription boxes), but this Winter has made me appreciate subscription boxes even more as I'm spending a lot more time at home, and spending more time using each of the products in my boxes! The July Box by Society of Lovely delivered all sorts of Winter warmers and goodness, and I had a lovely time rugged up at home enjoying all of the sweet treats in this month's box.The Goddess Box is one of three boxes that you can subscribe to and is $65 NZD per month. The two other boxes that you can subscribe to are Little Lovelies at $40 NZD per month and Envy at $105 NZD per month (shipping is included in the price). With Little Lovelies, you receive 4-5 items, with Goddess Gifts, you get 5-7 items, and with Envy, you get the full package, with around 8-11 items. The July Box contained six items.
1. Salted Caramel Steam Pudding by The Herb & Spice Mill
First up in the July Box is this wee Salted Caramel Steam Pudding which you can buy from NZ online food store, The Herb & Spice Mill. I've had this pudding before and it's a decadent and delicious, quick desert! All you need to do is a quick 30-second zap in the microwave, and have something on hand to pair it with. I had this pudding with a couple scoops of Kapiti's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and it was a match made in heaven! Unfortunately, I was too quick to gobble this up and didn't take a photo of the pudding itself, but believe me, it looked, smelt, and tasted good!
2. NYS Scarf
Next up, we have this gorgeous, light, scarf by NYS. Over the past few months, Society of Lovely have included a range of cute wardrobe accessories in their boxes, such as necklaces, earrings, headbands, and scarves. It's always a nice surprise as you'll always receive a good mix of items, from food, to beauty products, to items for your home, to wearable items. Scarves are the perfect Winter accessory to add a little extra warmth to your outfit and to change your outfit up!
3. Natural Hand Wash by Real World
In these times, we can all appreciate a good hand wash, and we're probably all washing our hands more than we ever have. This Mānuka Honey & Rose Natural Hand Wash by NZ company, Real World, is a really useful item to include in the July Box and comes in a generous 500ml bottle. Real World's products are natural and plant-based, and are hand crafted in small batches. As well as hand care products, Real World has a large range of body and skincare products, as well as products for your home. This Hand Wash contains: organic coconut oil, Mānuka Honey, organic glycerin, and rose essential oil. With the organic coconut oil, this hand wash leaves your hands feeling moisturised and not dry like many other hand washes do, and the light rose fragrance is divine!
4. Dark Deluxe Hot Chocolate and Spiced Chai by West Coast Cocoa Merchants
Next up, we have two Winter beverages by West Coast Cocoa Merchants. West Coast Cocoa Merchants hand make their chai and chocolate drinks in small batches, are committed to fair trade, and source their West African cocoa through the UTZ Certified Cocoa Programme. In the July Box I received a pouch of their Spiced Chai and their Dark Deluxe Hot Chocolate. Each pouch is 50 grams and serves 2 people, perfect to share with your partner. The Spiced Chai contains: brown and white sugar, ground spices, spiced Chai flavour, salt, and Heilala vanilla extract and the Dark Deluxe Hot Chocolate contains: sugar, Dutched cocoa, natural caramel flavour, sunflower oil, salt, and Heilala vanilla extract. The weather has been pretty miserable this weekend so it's been the perfect time to curl up on the couch with a cup of these warming, decadent, sweet drinks. Chocolate lovers will enjoy the rich flavours of the Dark Deluxe Hot Chocolate, I personally love the Spiced Chai with it's extra kick.
Price: $3.50 each
5. Tag-A-Longs by Rosanna
The last item in the July Society of Lovely Box, is this set of four, ceramic decorative gift tags by Rosanna. These gift tags are too cute, and are great way to jazz up a gift! Each tag has a writable surface on the reverse side, so you can write a heartfelt message to the lucky person that gets one of these tags on their gift. I'll be saving these tags to use on gifts for the special ladies in my life.
Verdict: This month's box from Society of Lovely was a wonderful Winter box with an eclectic mix of items. Society of Lovely ensure that they change up the items in each month's box and you know you are going to get a box of surprises, with some that you would never think of getting in a subscription box. There's always a good variety of products such as food, drinks, skincare, accessories, and items for your home, which makes Society of Lovely's boxes stand out for me.
