The January 'Goddess Box' by Society of Lovely

This is my first review of the year, and we're starting off with the January 'Goddess Box' by Society of Lovely, which is full of goodies to enjoy over Summer! The Goddess Box is one of three boxes that you can subscribe to and is $65 NZD per month. The two other boxes that you can subscribe to are Little Lovelies at $40 NZD per month and Envy at $105 NZD per month (shipping is included in the price). With Little Lovelies, you receive 4-5 items, with Goddess Gifts, you get 5-7 items, and with Envy, you get the full package, with around 8-11 items. The January Goddess Box contained 6 items.

1. Range of 0% Alcohol Sparkling Cocktails by Finery

First up, we have a selection of alcohol free, sparkling cocktails by NZ beverage company, Finery Cocktails. Finery Cocktails make a large range of both alcoholic, and non-alcoholic sparkling soda cocktails that are inspired by nature. Their drinks are sugar-free, carb-free, and gluten-free. In the January box, I received three delicious flavours: Lemon Myrtle Lime & Black Tea, Vanilla & Elderflower, and Grapefruit, Cucumber and Mint. Each flavour is unique and very refreshing, with my fave being the Lemon Myrtle Lime & Black Tea. These sparkling cocktails go down well on a hot day. The alcoholic cocktails are great to have if you are wanting to enjoy a low calorie drink, and the non-alcoholic cocktails are perfect if you're wanting to cut down on the alcohol.

2. Bug Off Balm by Simply Kawakawa

Next, we have the Bug Off Balm by natural balm company, Simply Kawakawa. Simply Kawakawa's balms are 100% natural, plastic-free, handmade in small batches, and the Kawakawa used in each balm is grown on Simply Kawakawa's own property. This Bug Off Balm contains: Kawakawa-infused olive oil, beeswax, citronella oil, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. I usually hate the smell of citronella but this balm actually smells good as the tea tree and eucalyptus really comes through and the citronella scent is subtle. I've been using a lot of insect repellent this Summer (mozzies love to attack my ankles), and the Bug Off Balm is effective in warding away pesky bugs and helps take away the itch from existing bites.

3. Black Ikat Sarong by Blazing Daisy

The third Summer item in the January box, is a gorgeous sarong by Blazing Daisy. Blazing Daisy is an online NZ store that sells a large range of homewares, gifts, and fashion products. This sarong is 100% cotton and is light and breezy with cute boho tassels, and is perfect for a hot day.

4. Skinnies Sungel

The last item in the January box is the Sungel by Skinnies. It's been a hot, dry Summer here in Auckland, and we've been going through a lot of sunscreen in my house! The Skinnies Sungel is different to most, as it's in gel form and you'll find that most sunscreens come as a cream. This Sungel contains zero water, has an SPF30 rating, is reef safe, water resistant, and provides protection for 80 minutes. I love this Sungel by Skinnies as a little goes a long way, and it's a sunscreen that is cruelty-free, vegan, and comes in sugar cane sustainable packaging.

Verdict: The January Goddess Box by Society of Lovely contained a mix of feel-good Summer products, with drinks to enjoy on a hot day, while wearing the gorgeous sarong that was included, and products to protect your skin from the Summer ailments. If you're wanting to subscribe to a box that contains varied items each month, then I would recommend Society of Lovely, who change it up with each month. You can subscribe to their February box here.
