My Treat's 'Mental Health May' Box
I remember back to last year's 'Mental Health May' Box from My Treat and how each of the items in the box helped lift my spirits and allowed me to spend some time looking after myself. Every box from My Treat helps me feel good but this month's box contains some extra special treats to boost your mood! I have more going on this year in my life than I ever have and at times it can be overwhelming, so I really appreciate getting my monthly box from My Treat, as it forces me to stop, reflect, and take care of myself. My Treat offer three different monthly subscriptions; the Body Box, the Body & Underwear Box, and the Mini Box, as well as a variety of one-off boxes featuring popular items from previous boxes. Today I am reviewing My Treat's 'Body Box' which is $38.95 NZD per month, along with $6 shipping. The May Box contains six products, by NZ brands that My Treat subscribers all know and love.
1. By Nature's Sweet Orange Essential Oil
First up in the 'Mental Health May' Box, is By Nature's Sweet Orange Essential Oil. Essential oils have many uses, and can do a lot for your mood. The Sweet Orange Essential Oil goes perfectly with this month's theme as it is known to help alleviate mental fatigue and stress. You can add a few drops of an essential oil to your bath for a relaxing soak, use it in an oil diffuser for a fragrant, uplifting room, or add it into a cleaning spray. For me, cleaning our home relaxes me and seeing the results is an instant mood booster for me, so I added a few drops of this oil to one of my cleaning sprays. Using By Nature's Sweet Orange Essential Oil in a spray allows me to enjoy this fun citrus scent, as well as shiny surfaces!
2. Silk Scrunchy by Skye Candle & Body Care
The second item in the May Box is a new product by Skye Candle & Bodycare and that's their Silk Scrunchy! These gorgeous scrunchies are made from 100% Mulberry Silk, and subscribers will receive one of six colours: black, white, champagne pink, ice blue, lake blue, or burgundy. My scrunchy is in the beautiful shade of lake blue, and is soft and stretchy. As these scrunchies are made from Mulberry Silk, they are gentle on your hair and scalp. I don't usually tie my hair up as it's a pain to remove hair ties, but these scrunchies make it easy to have my hair up and I can now change up my look and enjoy an up-do that's pain-free!
3. Lanocreme's Manuka Honey Face Mask
Next, we have a Manuka Honey Face Mask by NZ skincare company, Lanocreme. Popping on a face mask is not only going to work wonders on your skin, but also your mood. Subscribers can pop on their face mask and slip into a hot bath with their Ahhh Cosmetics Bath Bomb, for a relaxing and indulgent soak. This face mask contains: Manuka Honey, Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Vera, and Argan Oil, ingredients that will deeply nourish your skin. I've been making a point of sharing my boxes with friends, and my good friend Michaela tried out this face mask. Michaela was impressed by the mask which she said had a marzipan scent to it, and it left her skin feeling soft and moisturised.
4. Aromatherapy Synergy 'In Love Again' Body Oil by Linden Leaves
Taking the time to pamper myself at home is something I like to do as it makes me feel good and takes my mind off of other things. The 'In Love Again' Body Oil by Linden Leaves is going to leave you with soft skin, feeling relaxed, and smelling amazing. After having a hot shower, instead of lotion, you can use this Aromatherapy Synergy Body Oil instead. The 'In Love Again' Body Oil contains: Organic Rosehip Oil, Avocado Oil, Pure Sweet Almond Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Rosemary extract, and real pieces of Tamarillo and Strawberry. I'm not usually big on body oils but I have to say that the 'In Love Again' Body Oil has one of the most beautiful scents I've ever smelt and I can't get enough of it (this is in my top fave products that I've received in a box)! Just smelling this Body Oil makes me happy and I'll be using this every morning after my shower!
5. Manuka Honey Bath Bomb by Ahhh Cosmetics
Next up, we have the Manuka Honey Bath Bomb by Ahhh Cosmetics. As we near Winter it's getting a hell of a lot colder, and nothing beats having a hot bath in the evening! Ahhh Cosmetics are known for their large range of bath and body products and their Manuka Honey Bath Bomb is divine. The Manuka Honey Bath Bomb contains coconut oil for a moisturising soak, and the water fizzing with the sweet smell of honey made me feel both relaxed and happy! Subscribers will receive one of three bath bombs, either the Manuka Honey, Ocean Cruz, or Lavender Love. If you haven't tried one of Ahhh Cosmetics bath bombs, I recommend you do. They are handmade, free of parabens and SLS, and you can find them in selected supermarkets.
6. Gentle Obsession Roll-On Perfume by Nudi Point
The last product in the May Box is a Roll-On Perfume by Nudi Point. Subscribers will receive one of six different perfumes and I received 'Gentle Obsession'. These perfumes are a new product by Nudi Point and come in a glass bottle, with a natural wooden lid. They are also natural, cruelty-free, and contain zero alcohol. 'Gentle Obsession' is a light, sweet, fruity perfume and contains: Sweet Almond Oil, and Pure Essential Oils of Sweet Orange, Jasmine, Lime, and Vanilla. I'm not a fan of strong perfumes so the 'Gentle Obsession' is perfect for me as it's fragrant but light, uplifting, and is not harsh on my skin.
Verdict: My Treat's 'Mental Health May' Box contained everything you need to have a relaxing, fun weekend at home. Each item brought either relief or happiness into my daily routine and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the products. This month's box contained over $110 worth of products, all by New Zealand brands, and I reckon subscribers are going to love and appreciate this month's box. Next month's box is all about 'All New Brands' and you can sign up to the June box here.
