My Treat's 'Mental Health' May Body Box

This month's box by My Treat is called the 'Mental Health' May Box and My Treat have sent a variety of products to their subscribers that make you feel better both physically and mentally, something all of us can appreciate during these times. The past few weeks have been strange and uncertain, so it's nice to receive a monthly package of feel-good treats from familiar brands. Today I am reviewing My Treat's 'Body Box' which is $38.95 NZD per month, along with $6 shipping. The May box contains seven products from Rata & Co., By Nature, So, Wet n' Wild, and more.

This month's monthly magazine from My Treat contains info on the brands and products in the box, along with handy tips for the body and mind.

1. Accent Series Notebook by Sharon Blair

First up, we have one of six notebooks designed by Australian artist, Sharon Blair. These notebooks are inspired by nature, with the paper in this notebook made from sugarcane. The sugarcane plant is fast-growing and can produce three harvests per year, whereas tree paper can take up to 10 years. And for every pallet of sugarcane paper, 25 trees are saved. These high-quality lined notebooks are beautiful, and are a great start to this month's box. For my mental health, I like to steer away from using my laptop too often, and tend to use pen and paper daily. I always have a notebook by my side whether it be for notes, reminders, or to-do's!

2. Rata & Co.'s Radiance Boosting Vitamin C Mask

Christchurch based skincare company, Rata & Co. have featured in several of My Treat's boxes and their products have been consistently amazing. Their Probiotic Face Cream is one of my favourite facial moisturisers and each of their products uses natural ingredients that promote healthy skin. This Radiance Boosting Vitamin C Sheet Face Mask is infused with Collagen which promotes firmness and plumpness, Shea Butter which is rich in both Vitamin E and fatty acids to provide protections, and Vitamin C which hydrates your skin. With turning 30 just a couple of months ago, I've noticed changes with my skin and for the first time in my life, I'm experiencing quite dry skin and have made face masks a weekly routine opposed to using a mask once a month, or when I could be bothered. After cleansing my face, I put this sheet mask on and let it work its magic for ten minutes. Face masks for me, are a great way to relax and do nothing, as I am a glasses wearer and literally can't see much once I take them off and put on a face mask! This mask is cooling, moist, and has a refreshing citrus scent. Afterwards, my face felt soft and much more hydrated than it has been for weeks! I'd definitely recommend this sheet mask for a quick, refreshing, face boost!

Price: $15.00 for a pack of 5 masks

3. SO: Salt & Oil's SO Uplifting Bath Soak

Here we have a new local brand, SO: Salt & Oil, featuring in My Treat's boxes for the first time! Salt & Oil are a Northland-based, family run business, who have created a range of natural, vegan, and cruelty-free bath salts. In the May box, I received a large 450 gram pouch of their SO Uplifting Bath Soak which contains: Natural Epsom Salt, Pure Himalayan Pink Salt and essential oils. Whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed, I like to lie in a hot bath for a good half hour to de-stress and clear my mind. The essential oils used in this bath soak are Clary Sage, which induces calmness and clarity, and Bergamot for relaxation and soothing. One of these bags will do two baths, however today, I'll be using this soak in a foot bath. I love both Clary Sage and Bergamot, so I find this soak smells absolutely amazing, and after 20 minutes with my feet soaking, I felt much more relaxed. This a great Sunday treat before you get back into the work week, especially if you're up on your feet all day!

4. By Nature's Purifying Gel Facial Cleanser

The first of two products from My Treat regular, By Nature, is their Purifying Gel Facial Cleanser. As always with By Nature, you get plenty of value for money with this tube being a large 255 grams. The Purifying Gel Facial Cleanser contains Aloe Vera to cool and soothe, Marine Collagen to promote firmness, Rosehip and Argan Oil, and Hyaluronic Acid (non-animal derived) to replenish and soften your skin. I always feel so much better after cleansing my face and like to think that I'm washing away the stresses of the day along with all my makeup! This cleanser with its gel texture is cooling and is another great product from By Nature.

Price: $8.99

5. Molly Woppy's Gingerbread Cookie

Next up, we have a yummy iced gingerbread cookie made by well-known, artisan cookie company, Molly Woppy. This cookie is a nice little reminder to love yourself and treat yourself every now and again!

6. Wet n Wild's Megaliner Liquid Eyeliner

Here we have the Megaliner Liquid Eyeliner by Wet n Wild. PETA have recently released this statement on Wet n Wild's cruelty-free status, which you can read here: https://www.peta.org/about-peta/faq/is-wet-n-wild-cruelty-free/. Wet n Wild are working with PETA to continue to be a cruelty-free makeup company. I've been needing some new eyeliner so it was great timing receiving this in the May box! I usually use an eyeliner by Stila which is quite pricey, so its nice to have a cheaper, every-day alternative. This eyeliner has good pigment, and the applicator is easy to use, so it wasn't hard at all to create a defined wing.

Price: $9.00

7. By Nature's Hydro Jelly Sleep Mask

The last product in the May box is a Hydro Jelly Sleep Mask from By Nature. As soon as I saw this Sleep Mask, I got excited as I've been wanting to try a mask that works while you sleep. This lightly perfumed Sleep Mask contains Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Vera, and Glycerin to replenish moisture overnight. You apply this mask 30 minutes before bedtime, to allow time for the jelly to absorb into your skin. In the morning, all you need to do is rinse your face with warm water and pat dry. I wake up with dry skin around my nose, so I'll be using this quite regularly to help restore moisture to the areas that are prone to dryness.

Price: $12.99

Verdict: The 'Mental Health' May box will be adored by new and existing subscribers, and what with everything that has been happening over the past few weeks, I'm sure that every item in this box is going to be treasured and used in no time! Each item in this month's box has been picked to help you give your mind and body some love and care, and help boost your self-esteem or relax and unwind.
