My Treat's 'June All New Brands' Box
I get so excited when I see new brands in my subscription boxes, and even more excited when My Treat make a box featuring beauty products all by new brands! The June Box is full of a range of essentials for your face, body, and hair, to keep you looking and feeling amazing over the Winter months. My Treat offer three different monthly subscriptions; the Body Box, the Body & Underwear Box, and the Mini Box, as well as a variety of one-off boxes featuring popular items from previous boxes. Today I am reviewing My Treat's 'Body Box' which is $38.95 NZD per month, along with $6 shipping. The June Box contains seven products by new brands: Black Chicken Remedies, LUÉ, Divine Higher Self, Wild Kiwihearts, and Boutique Beauty Brands.
In the June My Treat mag, you will find detailed info on all of the brands and their featured products!
1. Dry Shampoo by Black Chicken Remedies
The first product that caught my eye in this month's box, is the Dry Shampoo by Black Chicken Remedies. Black Chicken Remedies are an Australian skincare company, with a range of face and body products that are 100% natural. Black Chicken Remedies Dry Shampoo is award winning and is made from organic ingredients. I've been needing a good dry shampoo that works for my hair, and I was desperate to try this! This Dry Shampoo contains: Cornstarch & Tapioca Powders, Bamboo Powder, Fossil Shell Powder (packed full of silica), Clary Sage, and Rosemary. I've been hard pressed to find a dry shampoo which has done the job and allowed me to have another day or two without washing, so I'll admit, I was skeptical. At the third day of not washing my hair, my hair becomes quite to manage and brushing is literally a pain. This dry shampoo is the best I've used and made my hair easy to brush and took away any noticeable grease. It also has a light Clary Sage scent to it which I love. Apparently this stuff is great to use straight after a wash to help lengthen the time between your next wash so I'll be trying this after I wash my hair next!
2. Kawakawa Lip Balm by Divine Higher Self
The second product in the June My Treat Box is one for your lips, and that's the Kawakawa Lip Balm by Wellington-based business, Divine Higher Self. Andrea Matewai, a matakite (spiritual healer), is the creator of Divine Higher Self and combines her Kawakawa products with her practice. The Kawakawa plant is native to New Zealand and has medicinal and healing properties. This Kawakawa Lip Balm contains: Kawakawa Leaves, Beeswax, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Pomace, and Olive Oil. I can't get enough of lip balm and always have my eye out for a good brand. This lip balm glides on smoothly and kept my lips soft and moisturised for hours.
3. Magnesium & Kawakawa Body Cream by Wild Kiwihearts
Next up, we have the second New Zealand based brand new to My Treat's boxes, Wild Kiwihearts. Wild Kiwihearts make cruelty-free skincare products using natural and organic ingredients. Their Magnesium & Kawakawa Body Cream
contains: 15% Magnesium Chloride, Aloe Vera, Hemp Seed Oil, Kawakawa, Wild Unrefined Shea Butter, Almond & Safflower Oils, and Coconut Oil. You can use this Body Cream to relieve aches and pains, and for arthritis. I have a sore, stiff neck currently and this cream works wonders, and you get a generous amount in the 50ml pot. Packaged in a tin, it's good to see that zero plastic has been used. The Magnesium & Kawakawa Body Cream instantly feels soothing on your skin and I could feel relief after just a few minutes. This is my new go-to for body aches!
4. Cure Natural Aqua Gel Samples
Here we have a couple of samples of Cure Natural Aqua Gel, supplied by Boutique Beauty Brands. Cure's Natural Aqua Gel is an exfoliator that is a best seller in Japan, with one bottle sold every 4.5 seconds! This exfoliator contains: 91% Hydrogenated Water, Aloe Leaf, and extracts of Rosemary, Gingko, and Biloba. This is probably one of the purest exfoliators you'll find with most of it being made up of water, and is free of fragrance and preservatives. I used one sample sachet and found that it removed dead skin from my face and left it feeling smooth. I can see why this exfoliator is so popular, as it works really well and is gentle on your skin!
5-7. LUÉ by Jean Seo Skincare Solution Set
The last items in the June 'All New Brands' Box is the Skincare Solution Set by Jean Seo. The Skincare Solution Set contains Erase, a Cleansing, Exfoliating & Brightening Powder, Clear Spot Control, and Balance, a Hydrating & Calming Serum. Erase contains: Avena Sativa Kernel Flour, Nonfat Dry Milk, and Magnesium Carbonate. This powder is easy to use, just mix a bit with water to create a paste, apply to damp skin, and let it dry for one minute before removing. This works wonders in both cleansing and exfoliating. Clear Sport Control contains: Cane, Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Rhubarb Root, Senna, White Turmeric, Myrrh, and Saffron. With a blend of 12 herbs, this powerful treatment should be applied to spots for 30 seconds. Next time I have a spot, I'll use the Clear Treatment and will update this blog post with my thoughts. The Balance Hydrating & Calming Serum contains: Distilled Water, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, and Potassium Sorbate. This Serum helps firm and tone skin, and controls oil and shine. You can use this as both a moisturiser and as a shaving cream. I decided to use it for shaving and it left my legs which get quite dry, feeling smooth and hydrated. Overall this is a good skincare set, and is gentle on your skin so suitable for all skin types.
Verdict: The June 'All New Brands' was such an interesting box, with brands that I hadn't heard of or used until this box. With over $100 worth of value, subscribers will be delighted in the range of products, with a varied mix of products for your hair, body, and face. There wasn't a product that I didn't like and wouldn't use, and each product was gentle on my skin, so most subscribers will find the products in this box suitable for their skin. There's plenty in the June Box to keep your skin healthy over Winter, and I couldn't pick one fave item this month but three with them being the Dry Shampoo, the Kawakawa Lip Balm, and the Magnesium & Kawakawa Body Cream!
