My Treat's 'April All About Your Face' Box
This month, My Treat have created a box that contains everything you need to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy. The 'April All About Your Face' Box contains natural, cruelty-free skincare products from My Treat faves such as: Mia Belle, Linden Leaves, Skye Candle & Bodycare, Sirius Skincare, and By Nature. As we draw closer to Winter, it's important to care for your skin in the cooler months and this month's box contains everything you need for a full face routine. My Treat offer three different monthly subscriptions; the Body Box, the Body & Underwear Box, and the Mini Box, as well as a variety of one-off boxes featuring popular items from previous boxes. Today I am reviewing My Treat's 'Body Box' which is $38.95 NZD per month, along with $6 shipping. This month, I've also had a couple of my friends try some of the products and give me their thoughts!
My Treat's monthly magazine is in full colour and contains the stories behind the brands in the box as well as helpful skincare tips!
1. Activated Charcoal with Natural Exfoliant Cream Clay Cleanser by Mia Belle
You need to be cleaning your face each morning and night, and you should not scrimp when it comes to a cleanser for your face. Mia Belle have subscribers covered this month with their Cream Clay Cleanser. Subscribers will receive one of two cleansers, either the Pink Clay Cleanser or the Activated Charcoal Cleanser. I received the Activated Charcoal Cleanser which is ideal for oily skin types. Using a clay cleanser allows for a deeper cleanse, as the clay helps draw out dirt from your skin. This cleanser contains: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Activated Charcoal, Jojoba Oil, essential oils of Ylang Ylang and Lavender, and Vitamin E. My friend Michaela used this cleanser and said: "This cleanser was easy to use and is going to last me a while as all you need is a pea-sized amount added with water, to get a full face cleanse. It has a light, fresh scent to it, and I could feel it exfoliating my skin as I applied it to my face. I'd recommend using a cloth to remove the cleanser, but afterwards my face felt squeaky clean and soft!"
2 & 3. Aloe Vera Gel Masque & Masque Brush
Next, we have the Aloe Vera Gel Masque by Skye Candle & Body Care. This masque featured back in the August 2019 My Treat box, and I'm glad to see it is back again, with the added bonus of a masque brush! The main ingredient in this masque is Aloe Vera which has anti-bacterial and anti-ageing properties; as well as Pink Grapefruit essential oil. I had two of my friends try the Aloe Vera Gel Masque and they loved it, and subscribers will too. They said it has a subtle, fresh smell, and is instantly cooling and refreshing. They both found this masque easy to both apply and remove, and it left their skin feeling soft and moisturised. They both agree that this is the perfect masque to use if you have a bit of sunburn or if your face is feeling irritated. The brush provided is soft on your skin and allows you cleanly apply the masque on your face (and can also double as a makeup brush if you prefer to use your hands!)
Price: $19.90 for the Aloe Vera Gel Masque & $9.90 for the Masque Brush
4. Green Tea Face Toner by Sirius Skincare
Using a toner is another crucial part of a healthy skincare routine and spritzing myself with toner is one my favourite steps, even more so now that I have the Green Tea Face Toner by Sirius Skincare. The Green Tea Face Toner contains: Jasmine Green Tea Hydrosol, which which is anti-ageing, and protects your skin from toxins; Witch Hazel, which has skin tightening and anti-inflammatory properties, and Vitamin E. You can use the Green Tea Face Toner as a Facial Spray, and just spritz it onto your face over your makeup, or as a toner, by spraying it onto your face and then wiping it off with a cotton pad. Jasmine and green tea combine to give this toner a beautiful scent and this is another skincare favourite for me! Instantly refreshing, especially after you've put your makeup on!
5. Regenerating Elixir by Linden Leaves
Next, we have the Regenerating Elixir by a skincare brand that regularly feature in My Treat's boxes, Linden Leaves. The Regenerating Elixir is a new product by Linden Leaves, and will help firm, plump, smooth your skin, and fight signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines. It contains: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Rosehip Oil, Kiwifruit Seed Oil, Linseed Oil, Chamomile Flower Extract, Licorice Root Extract, Rose Flower Oil, Shea Butter, and White Tea Leaf Extract, to name a few. The Regenerating Elixir is suitable for all skin types and is also vegan friendly. I gave the Regenerating Elixir to my friend Sandra to try. Sandra said: "This cream feels wonderful on my face and is hydrating and lightweight, it has a sweet swell to it like honey. It absorbs into my skin well, leaving it feeling soft and smooth, and I look forward to seeing the anti-ageing benefits from using the Elixir!"
6. Purifying Eye Serum from By Nature
The last product in this month's box is the Purifying Eye Serum from By Nature. Using an eye serum each morning and night is a staple part of my skincare routine, and I'm actually nearly out of eye serum, so I was happy to see this product in the April box! The Purifying Eye Serum protects your skin against pollutants and helps reduce dark circles around your eyes. By Nature have created this serum using anti-oxidant rich ngredients such as: Rice Protein, Rosehip Oil, Cranberry Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Green Tea Extract, and Tomato Seed Oil. As it's fragrance free, this serum is gentle on your skin and suitable for all skin types. I much prefer eye serums to creams, and this one from By Nature glides on, feels light on your skin as well as soothing, and this is one of my fave items in this box!
Verdict: The 'April All About Your Face' Box has a value of over $120 and subscribers are going to love this box as each product is made by trusted NZ skincare brands using natural ingredients. This month's box was a fun one for me as I got to share some of the items with a couple of my friends who also loved the products in the box! If you're looking to change up your skincare routine by using all natural, cruelty-free, NZ made products, and don't know where to start, then I definitely recommend signing up to a My Treat box or even trying one of their one-off boxes.
