My Treat's 'Amazing August' Box
The 'Amazing August' Box by My Treat is here and it is exactly that, with this being one of my most anticipated wait's for a subscription box as of yet. This month's box contains a variety of wholesome NZ-made products for your face and your body, both inside and out. My Treat offer two different monthly subscriptions; the Body Box, and the Mini Box, as well as a variety of one-off boxes featuring popular items from previous boxes. Today I am reviewing My Treat's 'Body Box' which is $38.95 NZD per month, along with $6 shipping. The August Box contains seven products by returning My Treat regulars: Linden Leaves, By Nature, Wet n' Wild, and Aotearoad, as well as new brands: Miss Currant, Tiaki, and Peace & Co.
This month's magazine contains gorgeous photos and detailed info on the brands behind the products as well as tips on how to use the products in the box.
1. By Nature's Avocado Omega Boost 2-in-1 Face Mask
First up, in the August Box is the Avocado Omega Boost 2-in-1 Sheet Face Mask by By Nature. Using a face mask is one way to make yourself feel good both inside and out and it's a great way to relax whilst giving your skin some love. This face mask contains: Cold Pressed Avocado Oil which is rich in Vitamins A, D, and E, and Hyaluronic Acid which boosts collagen production. There are two steps to using this mask. First you open the top part of the sachet and prime your face by massaging it with the Avocado Oil. Next you place the sheet mask on your face and sit back and relax for ten minutes (I left mine on for 20!). The Avocado Oil is a great moisture boost, especially as I've been suffering from major dryness this Winter. That combined, with the cooling sheet mask, left my skin feeling much more hydrated and soft.
2. Perfecting Body Polish by Linden Leaves
Next up, we have another skin pampering treat which is the Vetiver & Violet Perfecting Body Polish by Linden Leaves. This polish both moisturises and gently exfoliates your skin with the apricot grain kernels it contains. This Body Polish has a beautiful warm and musky scent which I love, with its notes of bergamot, violet, vetiver, amber, and sandalwood.
3. The Pink Bottle by Peace & Co
Who doesn't love gummies, and even better, gummies that are packed full of vitamins! This is one of the items in this month's box that I was eagerly awaiting, and for good reason, as these little strawberry flavoured gummy hearts are delicious! These gummy hearts contain a whole bunch of goodness to promote healthy hair, skin and nails.
So what do these gummy hearts contain? Biotin, which repairs damaged hair; Vitamin B5, which promotes hair growth and keratin production; Vitamin B12, which reduces tiredness; Folic Acid, which is an antioxidant; Vitamin C, which does wonders for your skin; Vitamin A, which helps maintain healthy skin; and that's just to name a few. These vitamins are also cruelty-free and vegan. It's so tempting to just chow down on the whole bottle, but they are a two-a-day only vitamin, so I'll have to have some self control. There are 60 gummies in a bottle, which is a one month supply. I'll be buying another bottle after this one, and My Treat actually have for sale on their website under their 'Build a Box' section!

4. Pink Grapefruit & Ylang Ylang Natural Moisturiser by Aotearoad
The fourth item in the Amazing August Box is the Pink Grapefruit & Ylang Ylang Natural Moisturiser by Auckland-based company, Aotearoad. Aotearoad's range of natural moisturisers are handmade and contain: shea butter, coconut oil, organic tapioca, organic sunflower seed oil, and essential oils of rosemary, grapefruit, and ylang ylang. They also use compostable packaging and their products are vegan and cruelty-free. This moisturiser in stick form makes for easy application and is non-greasy!
5. Miss Currant's Premium Blackcurrant Powder Sachets
Next up, we have these sample sachets of Premium Blackcurrant Powder by NZ company, Miss Currant. Miss Currant's Blackcurrant Powder packs a lot of goodness that your body is going to benefit from, with each sachet containing 51nutrients, including: 38 antioxidants, 7 minerals, 5 vitamins, and cyclic Glycine-Proline (a key nutrient for the brain). All of this combined helps to support cardiovascular, lung, breast, and brain health, and boosts immunity, and that's to name just a few of the benefits. The blackcurrants used in Miss Currant's powder are grown in NZ and 100 grams of powder is made from 600 grams of NZ blackcurrants. You can either add the powder on its own to water (under 70 degrees), or you can add it to a smoothie, or juice. I chose to add mine to water as I wanted to really taste the blackcurrants. Miss Currant's Blackcurrant Powder is delicious on it's own and I really enjoy the tartness of the blackcurrants and I think I might need to buy myself a box of Miss Currant!
Price: $5.99 for 3 samples & $49.99 for a box of 30 sachets
6. Tiaki Night Cream
Here we have a new brand to feature in My Treat's boxes, and that's Christchurch-based company, Tiaki Skincare. 'Tiaki' translates to 'to take care of', and this skincare range is natural, free of parabens, fragrance-free, and cruelty-free.
First off, this is one nicest packaged products I've seen, it feel and looks luxurious. The Tiaki Night Cream is infused with New Zealand Manuka Honey, natural almond, argan, and rosehip oils, and Marula seed oil which is full of antioxidants, Omega 6, and Vitamins A and E. This cream feels rich and moisturising, while not being greasy, and you can smell the gorgeous natural scent of the oils and honey shining through.
7. Wet n' Wild Lipstick
The last product in the August box, is a lippy by makeup brand, Wet n' Wild. This lipstick will keep your lips moisturised with ingredients such as: Murumuru seed butter, Argan Oil, sunflower seed and passionfruit oil. This shade of lipstick is called 'Mocha-licious' and it's a nicely pigmented dark shade, which is something I would usually wear. Wet n' Wild have a large makeup range and their brand is affordable and great if you're on a budget.
Verdict: The Amazing August Box had an awesome variety of products by local brands, and there's not an item in this month's box that I won't use. As always, My Treat ensure that there's the perfect balance of items in each box, with products for your skin, face, and your health. It's good to see brands that I know and love back again in this month's box, as well as three, exciting new brands! I can't wait for the September Luxury Escape Box which looks out of this world!
