I AM Co.'s 'September Baketivity Delight Box'

I reviewed a couple of I AM Co.'s boxes back in 2018, and I've decided to re-subscribe to their boxes as I'm wanting to discover healthy snacks and products, by NZ and international brands. I AM Co. are a monthly subscription box, that send out between 7-10 items, with a mix of healthy food products and natural beauty products. The Delight Box is $35 per month, and shipping is free for non-rural addresses. I Am Co. also have a reward program for subscribers where you earn points for each product you review in your box, which you can then redeem for a gift! The 'September Baketivity Delight Box' contains 10 full-sized and sample-sized products.

1. Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener

The first product in the 'September Baketivity Delight Box' is a pouch of Monkfruit Sweetener by Lakanto. The Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener is a sugar substitute made from monk fruit and erythritol (a natural sugar alcohol). Lakanto have two different types of sweetener with this one being their Golden (Brown) Sweetener, with more of a sweet maple flavour. This sweetener is extracted from the seeds and the skin of the monk fruit, whereas their Classic (White) Sweetener is extracted from the white pulp of the monk fruit. This sweetener contains 93% less calories than sugar per serve, and is zero glycemic, gluten-free, keto friendly, and vegan. Unlike other sweeteners, this one doesn't leave an aftertaste. I AM Co. have included a yummy recipe for Dairy-Free Raspberry Scones, so I'll be using the Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener in that and in future baking!

2. Blue Dinosaur Paleo Bars

Next up, we have three Paleo Bars by Australian company, Blue Dinosaur. Blue Dinosaur make healthy protein and snack bars in a variety of flavours. In this month's box, we have Lamington, Choc Orange, and Cacao Mint. These Paleo Bars are preservative-free, gluten-free, vegan, and each is sweetened with only three and a half dates! So far, I've tried the Lamington flavour, and it's pretty good. Not too sweet, and they are quite chewy and moist (nothing worse than a dry snack bar!). These are great to carry around in your bag if you're feeling peckish and you've still got a few hours till your next big meal.

3. Aotearoad Natural Dry Shampoo

The first beauty product in the September Box is the Lavender & Ylang Ylang Dry Shampoo by NZ company, Aotearoad. Aotearoad make a range of natural products for your hair, skin, and body, and their packaging is made from paper and not plastic! I've tried their deodorant and moisturiser sticks, both are good products, and smell gorgeous, so I was excited to try their Dry Shampoo. The Aotearoad Dry Shampoo contains a blend of: organic tapioca, corn starch, and bamboo stem powder, and lightly scented with lavender and ylang ylang. As I have black hair, this one isn't quite for my hair colour, but I will gift this to a loved one with light hair. That's the great thing about subscription boxes, you can gift an item to friends and family, and still have plenty of gifts for yourself!

5. Micropod Taster Kit

Here we have a Microgreens Taster Kit by Micropod and this is one of my favourite items in the September I AM Co. box! Micropod are an NZ company that make indoor micro green gardening systems. This Taster Kit is a compact version of the Micropod system and contains a seed mat and coco mat so that you can grow your own microgreens in under two weeks at home. To get the full growing experience, you want to buy the complete Starter Kit which is exactly what I did as I want to grow my own microgreens to add to my cooking. With their kits you get a grow tray which is made from bamboo fibres, and this tray is BPA-free and biodegradable. Micropod's seed mats are made from wood and coco fibres and are compostable. Micropod have a variety of microgreens available such as: Rocket, Red Kale, Mizuna, Pak Choi, Mustard, Upland Cress, and Broccoli. It's also great to see that the outer packet that contains the taster kit is made from plant cellulose and is also compostable. I'm looking forward to trying out this compact kit, and I can't wait to receive my full Starter Kit!

6. Better Bakes Totally Nuts Slice by Cinderella

The 'September Baketivity Box' contains three different recipes to make, and even if you don't consider yourself as much of a baker, you'll enjoy making the sweet treats in this box. Here we have a generous bag of Better Bakes Totally Nuts Slice by Cinderella. Cinderella are based in NZ and make a range of baking packs, snacks, and ingredients. Subscribers will receive one of two kits, either their Bliss Balls or their Nut Slice. This baking mix contains almonds, cashews, peanuts, and dried fruits - all you need to add is butter or coconut oil and honey or maple syrup. This mix is good for a quick, hassle-free bake, as it takes only 5 minutes to whip up and then you pop it in the oven for 20 mins. I'll be drizzling white chocolate over the top of these slices but I'll waiting till Sunday to bake this so I can bring some in for my team.

7. Quench Coconut Mask By Skinfood

The second beauty product in this month's box is the Quench Coconut Mask by NZ skincare company, Skinfood. Skinfood's products are paraben-free, cruelty-free, and ingredients are responsibly sourced. This face mask contains ingredients such as: coconut oil, lime pearl caviar (rich in alpha-hydroxy-acids to refresh and brighten your skin), and Glacial clay sourced from Canterbury (this a high mineral clay which deep cleans by drawing toxins out from your skin). The Quench Coconut Mask is a multi-purpose mask as it cleanses and hydrates.

This mask is much needed as it's the end of the work week and I've been wearing makeup all week which leaves my face feeling like it needs some attention and care. I applied the mask and left it on for about 15 minutes. This mask comes in a generous 50ml glass jar, and you don't need much to get full face coverage so one jar will probably give you around 15 applications. I actually really love this face mask, it did do a good deep clean of my skin, and left it feeling supple.
