'February Relax & Recover' Box by My Treat
The February My Treat Box is called the 'Relax and Recover Box' and every single product in this box is here to nourish your skin and make you feel pampered and relaxed. This month's box contains a mix of face, body, and foot products with returning brands such as: Rata and Co, Mia Belle, and Skye Candle and Body Care, along with new local brand: Little Olive Tree. Today I am reviewing My Treat's 'Body Box' which is $38.95 NZD per month, along with $6 shipping. The February 'Relax and Recover Box' contains six, full-size beauty products.
The monthly My Treat magazine talks about each of the featured brands and products in detail, along with detailed ingredient information and lifestyle tips.
1. Rata & Co.'s Probiotic Face Cream
First up, we have this Probiotic Face Cream by Christchurch based company, Rata & Co. Rata & Co. make a range of beautiful, cruelty-free, skincare products with quality natural ingredients. This face cream actually featured in the May 2019 My Treat Box and I have loved using it, it's probably one of the best face creams I've used so I was ecstatic to see this feature again the February box.
This face cream is luxuriously creamy and feels wonderful after application and one jar lasted me several months. The Probiotic Face Cream contains a special Milk Peptide which acts as a skin barrier and encourages skin renewal. Other beneficial ingredients in Probiotic Face Cream are: ale barbadensis leaf juice, coconut oil, cacao seed butter, macadamia seed oil, beeswax, argan oil, acai fruit oil, ginseng extract, and Vitamin E. I love how My Treat's boxes regularly replenish my skincare vault so that I never run out of face creams!
2. Rata & Co.'s Probiotic Eye Cream
Next up is another probiotic product from Rata & Co. and it is their Probiotic Eye Cream. Following their face cream, this eye cream also contains a special Milk Peptide, and their formulations also contain Omega 3 and 6 for skin nourishment.
The Probiotic Eye Cream contains: macadamia seed oil, coconut oil, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, argan kernel oil, beeswas, licorice root extract, ginseng root extract, witch hazel, and Vitamin E. This eye cream has a light sweet scent, and like the face cream is quite creamy and thick, however, it doesn't feel heavy on your skin. You also get a generous 30g pot so this eye is going to last quite a while and I'm very impressed with Rata & Co.'s skincare range.
3. Skye Candle & Body Care's Kawakawa Lavender Balm
This Wellington-based brand is featuring for the second time in My Treat's boxes, and Skye Candle & Body Care have a diverse range of products for the home and body. Skye Candle & Bodycare's products are all natural, and are handmade in small batches.
Native to New Zealand, the Kawakawa plant has healing, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, and Kawakawa skin balms are gaining a lot of popularity due to it's properties and many uses. This Lavender Kawakawa Balm can be used for: eczema, rashes, minor cuts, bruises, pain relief, irritated skin, and rheumatism, to name a few. The balm itself has a beautiful, light lavender scent to it and is smooth and is non-greasy - another well made product from Skye Candle & Body Care and I look forward to trying some of their other products in future boxes.
4. Mia Belle's Oceania Summer Body Mist
Here we have the Oceania Summer Body Mist, by Mia Belle. This is the second product by Mia Belle to feature in My Treat's boxes, and this body mist is a stunner, with it's beautiful summer fragrance and classy packaging. Mia Belle make cruelty-free, plant-based products for the home, face, body, and hair, and present their products in environmentally-friendly packaging. The Oceania Summer Body Mist was inspired by Chelsea Martin, who was Miss Asia Pacific International NZ and Miss Continental Oceania for 2019. This mist comes in a decent sized 150ml glass bottle and can be sprayed all over your face, body, and hair for a cooling and refreshing spritz. The fragrance notes in this mist include: lime, grapefruit, jasmine, rose, and lemon and is combined with ingredients such as rose water, peppermint, and wheat protein to make the most amazing milky spray. I am obsessed with Mia Belle's Oceania Summer Body Mist, it's definitely one of the best smelling products I've ever used in my life, and is probably one of my most favourite products ever to feature in a My Treat box!
5. Little Olive Tree's Minty Foot Scrub
Next up, we have Cambridge-based small business, Little Olive Tree. Little Olive Tree make cruelty-free products for both the home and body using natural ingredients sourced from sustainable sources. The first of their two products in the 'Relax and Recover Box' is their Minty Foot Scrub. Most of my work involves standing and lots of moving so I've been keen to give my feet a good soak and use this foot scrub. The Minty Foot Scrub contains epsom salt, Himalayan salt, coconut oil, and essential oils. I soaked my feet in a tub of hot water for ten minutes before rubbing the scrub on my feet, and then popped my feet back in the tub for a further couple minutes. The scrub has a strong, refreshing, minty smell that I love and the scrub combined with the essential oils left my feet slightly tingly and a lot softer and smoother than they've been in a while!
6. Little Olive Tree's Minty Foot Balm
The second product from Little Olive Tree, and the final item in the February box, is this Minty Foot Balm that pairs with the Minty Foot Scrub. The Minty Foot Balm contains: olive oil, mango butter, beeswax, Vitamin E, and essential oils. This generous sized tub of Foot Balm is going to last you a while and again leaves your feet moisturised and with a slight tingle, perfect for when you have sore and dry feet! I've never been too fussed on foot care products, but after using Little Olive Tree's Minty Foot Scrub and Balm, I've really felt the benefits which is relief from tired and achy feet, and these two products are going to make all the difference in my week!
Verdict: My Treat's February 'Relax and Recover' Box has to be one my favourite boxes thus far! Studying, blogging, working, and planning my wedding has made this month full on to say the least, and this month's box was my saviour. As you can see in my review, I've given each product five stars as they've all worked wonders on my skin and all feel and smell delightful and made with plenty of love. We're only into the second month of the year and My Treat has blown me away with their boxes. You can subscribe to the March Body Box here.
