My Treat 'July Body & Underwear' Box

The theme of this month's box from My Treat is 'Plastic Free July' and contains several NZ made beauty products that have no plastic packaging. My Treat are one of the most successful subscription box companies in NZ and offer three different monthly subscriptions. The box that I'm reviewing is their 'Body & Underwear Box' which is $48.95 per month, along with $6 shipping. Each month you are guaranteed around 5-10 items with a value of over $100, along with two pairs of My Treat's underwear. The 'Plastic Free July' box contains five full-sized products, a couple of samples, and two pairs of underwear.

1 & 2. Collagen Induction Wand & T3 Tip to Toe Organic Temple Detox by Beauty Tofu

Beauty Tofu return to My Treat's boxes with their Collagen Induction Wand and their Temple Detox Clay. Beauty Tofu are an NZ based company who create products for both internal and external use, using plant powered ingredients. All of Beauty Tofu's products are ethically sourced, raw, vegan, and cruelty-free. This Induction Wand has a roller with mini pricks on it which stimulates your skin to promote collagen production. This magic wand also helps with correcting uneven skin tone, scars, and stretch marks. After cleansing, you can gently role the Induction Wand across your face, two to three times per week for the first month of use, and then once a week after the first month.

The second product by Beauty Tofu in the July box, is a bottle of their T3 Tip to Toe Organic Temple Detox, which can be used in conjunction with their Induction Wand. The Organic Temple Detox contains Sodium Montmorillonite Clay which can be used both internally and externally. For internal use, you can a spoonful of this clay to water, juice, smoothie, or baking, to help flush toxins from your body. For external use, add two teaspoons to water to create a paste for a face mask. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. This Organic Temple Detox makes up an excellent face mask that leaves your skin feeling soft and supple.

3. Lavender Konjac Sponge by Nudi Point

Next up, we have a Konjac Sponge by Nudi Point, a natural beauty company based in the Far North. I was excited to try this product as I've never used a Konjac Sponge before! Konjac is an Asian plant that is edible, however, it is also used to create facial massage products. Nudi Point uses pure Konjac and mineral extracts to create their range of sponges. Konjac Sponges are used to cleanse, exfoliate and detoxify your skin. The Konjac Sponge that I received in the July Box is the Lavender one, which is for sensitive skin. These sponges are naturally sustainable, free of colourants and additives, and are 100% biodegradable. With your first use, you need to soak the sponge for 15 minutes in warm water. You can then rub the Konjac Sponge on your face in circular motions to remove dead skin, dirt, and even makeup. Afterwards, you need to rinse your sponge with cold water, gently squeeze the water our, and then dry the sponge out on a rack. You can feel this sponge work its exfoliating magic on your face, and afterwards my skin felt squeaky clean and very smooth.

4. Lemon & Beaker Foaming Deep Cleanser Samples

Returning to My Treat's boxes are Auckland based skincare company, Lemon & Beaker. This was a popular cleanser in one of My Treat's previous boxes and that's because it is one of the best cleansers out there, and I really need to buy a full-sized bottle of this cleanser. The Foaming Deep Cleanser contains Lemon Peel Essential Oil and Bergamot Essential Oil to brighten and refresh your skin. This cleanser smells invigorating and is a good product to start your morning with. Lemon & Beaker use high grade essential oils and their products are also vegan.

5. Raw Honey by Becks Gold Honey

Here we have a large jar of Raw Honey by Central Otago based company, Becks Gold. As this honey is raw, pure, and unfiltered, you can find some wax and pollen within the honey. I love honey and this honey is creamy, golden, sweet, and delicious, and is perfect on toast. My Treat have also included some info in their monthly magazine, on other honey uses. You can use honey as an antiseptic, a sugar substitute, put some into a hot drink when you have a sore throat, use some when you feel a headache coming on, and even use it in a face mask. This is a nice big jar of honey too, so it's going to last me a while!
