My Treat 'May Body + Underwear' Box

This month's My Treat box is called the 'Mental Healthy May-day' box, and it is a very important one. This box is all about bringing positivity, love, and self-care to My Treat's subscribers. My Treat talk more about mental health and this month's box on their blog which I encourage you to read, here. Mental health in New Zealand is something that everyone needs to talk about, and it affects us all, whether it be directly or indirectly. I personally get quite bad social anxiety, and it's tough. To help myself through my hard times, I like to practice self-love and looking after myself, which is why subscription boxes are a much loved part of my life. To receive a monthly box, full of pampering treats, makes me feel good and reminds me that I need to look after my mind, my skin, and my body. My Treat were also recently a part of a photography session where their models were sized 14-20, to showcase their underwear which are made for women of every shape and size, and to promote body positivity. In this day and age, it can be tough work being positive about your image. I know for myself, I struggle with leaving the house without makeup, and this is a confidence issue for me that I need to work on. My Treat also include a monthly magazine in their boxes where they talk to us in more detail about the featured products, but this month's magazine also has some important articles on fertility and mental health, and maintaining a healthy attitude. So let's get into this month's box from My Treat, which is the 'Body + Underwear' box which is $18.95 NZD per month, along with $6 shipping.

1. Serious Popcorn by Serious Food Co.

I had to start off with this bag of popcorn first as I ate the entire bag in about two minutes. I was happy to see Serious Popcorn by Serious Food Co. again in a My Treat box, as this is the best popcorn ever. Seriously, I challenge you to find a better brand of popcorn. Since trying this popcorn back in last year's November box, I've bought their large bags a few times, and it's one of my fave, feel-good, snacks. Serious Food Co.'s popcorn are Certified Organic and contain raw, fair trade, organic sugar from India, and organic sea salt from Marlborough, New Zealand, and certified, organic coconut oil.

3. Gratitude Diary

Another thing that I'm loving about May's box, is that there is a real variety of items to beat away the blues with! Writing a gratitude diary involves reflecting on your day and writing down the things that you are grateful for, but you can use this lovely ring-bound notebook for anything. Being super organised is what makes me happy, so I'll be using this notebook for lists. I personally think it's important to take some time out during your week to sit down and just write about anything that comes to mind, so this notebook is a great addition to this month's box.

7. Monsoon Sparkling Ginger Beer

I'm not usually the biggest fan of ginger beer but this is the best ginger beer I've tasted and it's made by Hawkes Bay family business, Gilberd Organics. Monsoon Ginger Beer is made with ginger sourced in southwestern Vietnam, and combined with coconut sugar to create a sweet, refreshing can of goodness. Monsoon also make two other flavours of ginger beer, one with cardamom, and the other with lemongrass.

8. Crystals: Sodalite, Rose Quartz & Clear Quartz

Yay, crystals!!!!! A first for My Treat, are the inclusion of crystals in their boxes, and I really hope to see more crystals in future boxes. Sodalite inspires rational thought, intuition, emotional balance, self-esteem, self-acceptance and is calming. This is a great crystal to just in your hand when you're feeling a little overwhelmed. Quartz is another positive crystal that clears the mind of negativity. Crystals have many different uses, you can use them in rituals, meditation, place them under your pill, as a drinking filter, and even have a bath with them.

The second Rata & Co. product in the May box, is their Probiotic Face Oil which pairs well with their Probiotic Face Cream. This face oil also contains milk peptide as well as the following oils: almond, macadamia, argan, linseed, acai, and raspberry. This 30ml bottle has a dropper for easy application and is not scented.

Verdict: I love what My Treat have brought to their subscribers with this month's box. This is what I would call a 'feel-good' box and I enjoyed every item. It's so rare to see more than six or seven items in a subscription box, so I'm sure that every subscriber has loved this box as much as I have! There was also a lot of variety as we had snacks, skincare products, a notebook, and crystals. You can subscribe to the June box here!
