My Treat 'January Body + Underwear' Box

The first box for 2019 by My Treat, this box starts the year off with the perfect theme, which is, 'Natural New Year', and this box contains some gorgeous organic products made by local brands, along with more of My Treat's own branded underwear. This box is the 'Body + Underwear' box, which is $48.95 NZD per month along with $6 shipping, and My Treat continues to be one of the most affordable subscription boxes, while providing full-sized, natural beauty products. My Treat have also just announced that their boxes are going global which is so awesome to see as now, people in other countries can experience NZ's own beautiful products. The January 'Natural New Year' box contained two pairs of underwear, and five products.

1. Linden Leaves Crystal Crush Hand Cream

My Treat have started the new year off with more of Linden Leaves, a much loved and popular brand within their boxes. Every Linden Leaves product I have received is always beautifully packaged, smells amazing, and feels wonderful on my skin, and this hand cream is no exception. This Nourishing Hand Cream in Amethyst, is from their Crystal Crush range and contains vitamin E, shea butter, and sesame oil to keep your hands moisturised. I've never used hand cream on a regular basis but I think I will after trying this one, as it's not greasy. I am obsessed with this seductive scent that has notes of green fruit, gardenia, white florals, amber, musk, and vanilla.

2. Oxygen Skincare Purifying Honey Masque

Here we have the largest item in the January Box, and it is a whopping 200ml tube of Oxygen Skincare's Purifying Honey Masque. Oxygen Skincare own New Hoplands, which is based in Nelson, and is Australasia's largest organic hop farm, and all of their products contain organic hop extracts. This face masque contains NZ Manuka Honey which is antiseptic, healing, and hydrating and NZ Organic Hop Extract which helps tone your skin along with stimulating and promoting collagen production. It is also a calming ingredient which protects your skin from aging. Some of the other ingredients in this masque are apple, cucumber, and aloe extracts. The masque itself has a rich, honey scent, was easy to apply, and felt instantly cooling. I left it on my face for ten minutes, then jumped in the shower to wash it off. This masque was not messy, is soothing, feels light on the skin, and left my face looking a lot calmer, which makes it the perfect summer face masque!

3. By Nature Tangerine Essential Oil

This is the second box where My Treat have included an essential oil, which I love to see as essential oils have many uses. This essential oil is Tangerine which has a tangy, citrus scent, and is instantly refreshing. You can add essential oils to diffusers or vaporizers to create a room fragrance, add a couple of drops to your bath, or create a cleaning spray with it. As I have pets, I'm not too fond on using essential oils in diffusers, but I will be trying this out as a cleaning product on some surfaces and it's perfect for a revitalizing bath soak.

4. My Treat Underwear

I'm so delighted to see more of My Treat's own, branded underwear! They've really nailed these two pairs on the head for me as they are soft, supportive, lacy, and are polka dotted. My Treat's own underwear are also the best quality underwear that I've received, as the stitch work is impeccable and they are by far, the most comfortable pairs of underwear that I own. In previous boxes I've received different styles of underwear which has been interesting but this underwear is in my favourite style and the sizing is perfect, so I'd very happy if I was only receiving My Treat branded underwear for the rest of the year.

5. Little Honey Flawless Blending Glove

This is the only item in this month's box that I haven't used myself, as I don't use tanning/bronzing products. However, I did give this blending glove by Little Honey to my niece to try out and give me feedback on. According to my niece, this glove feels super soft and allowed for even, smooth application, with no patches the next day. Little Honey also include a discount voucher for 20% off on their online store where they also sell bronzing kits and mist!

6. Firming Eye Serum by Lanocreme

The last item in the January box is a Firming Eye Serum by Lanocreme, who are based in Christchurch. Lanocreme's products contain Lanolin, which is an oil derived from raw wool grease. Their Firming Eye Serum also contains ingredients such as Licorice Root Extract which is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, witch hazel water, argan oil, cucumber extract, and kiwi fruit extract. The serum comes in a 30ml glass jar, with a pump-action top. The pump itself works well and one pump gave me a decent amount of serum, for both eyes. The serum itself has a cucumber scent, is light, non-greasy, and felt cooling on my skin. I've only used it a couple of times so it's a bit too soon to see any benefits, and it is slightly on the pricey side, so you'd hope to see some benefits to the skin around your eyes. I'll be sure to give you all an update in a month or so!

Verdict: The January 'Natural New Year' Box, had a range of products that every woman needs to start the year with, and for new subscribers, a collection of essential, natural products that you need in your bathroom. Highlights in this month's box for me were My Treat's branded underwear and Oxygen's Purifying Honey Masque. Next month's box will be a winner for people that struggle with getting a decent night's sleep (like myself), and will contain sleep drops and skin care treats from NZ brands, Nudipoint and Matakana Skincare!
