My Treat 'January Body + Underwear Box'

This is my first My Treat box for 2018 and January's theme is foot care with several foot pampering products. There are three different boxes you can subscribe to, with this one being the 'Body & Underwear' Box, which is $44.95 NZD per month along with $2.50 shipping. In the January box I received two pairs of underwear and seven full sized products.

1. Candy Cookies Homemade Xo Bites

In the Jan box is a packet of cute M&M filled mini cookies, and it's the first food item that My Treat have included in a box. It's also the first item in this review as I couldn't wait to eat these. Of course they are as delicious as they look and I'm looking forward to seeing more edibles thrown in the mix every now and again.

2. Linden Leaves 'in bloom' Nourishing Hand Cream

Another first in this box is a Linden Leaves product, and it won't be the last as you'll see more of Linden Leaves in future boxes. This makes me happy as their packaging is beautiful, their products are made in New Zealand and are also 100% cruelty free. I don't tend to use hand creams but I will be using this one as it's a light cream that doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy and I love anything that has a floral scent. Next month's box also contains another gorgeous Linden Leaves product and other relaxing goodies!

3. Candie's Peach Striped Underwear

This cheeky pair of knickers with a peach lace lining, and a mix of bright stripes is another delicate and feminine pair brought to you by My Treat. This pair fits perfectly and feels lovely as it's so soft and sits perfectly on my hips and butt. It won't be long before I need to create a second underwear drawer and I might even get some dividers so that I can separate my underwear into different categories!

4. Wooden Emery Board

I see how this little tool ties in with this month's theme but it is the third one I've gotten in a My Treat box so I didn't want to see one of these again and this is the only item in the January box that I don't like.

5. Lady's Secret Anti-Skid Insole

A great foot tool that ties in with January's theme is this pair of insoles for your shoes. These anti-skid insoles help stop feet from sliding, prevent toe overhang in open toe shoes, keep feet dry, and provide shock absorption. These would be great for high heel wearers, but as I rarely wear heels, I'm going to try these out in my work sneakers.

6. NEXT Magazine

This edition of NEXT Magazine is a special one, as it features the creator of My Treat, Rosie Graystone! In this article, Rosie tells us about how My Treat started, what her job involves, and provides her own tips for business success. It's pretty inspirational and I think it's awesome that Rosie includes this magazine in the January box so that her subscribers can learn a bit more about My Treat and her story. I also haven't read NEXT before, and found it to be quite a good magazine, full of useful info and articles that are relevant to my age group.

7. Candie's Floral Underwear

Another elegant pair of underwear to add to my collection is this sweet pastel and lacy floral number. With the mint green lace around the edges and the purple and pink flowers, this is one of my most liked items in the January box and it ties together with the Linden Leaves pink petal hand cream.

8. Linden Leaves Footcare Foot Scrub

My second product by Linden Leaves is an exfoliating foot scrub that smells of sage and lemongrass. This foot scrub is made from pumice grains and ground apricot seeds and also contains pure grapeseed oil, cocoa butter and shea butter to moisturise as well as exfoliate your feet. Another perk of my monthly My Treat box is that I'm constantly trying new things, and this is one of them as I've never used a foot scrub before. Before applying the foot scrub I soaked my feet for ten minutes in a tub of warm water before massaging the bottom of my feet with the scrub to remove dead skin. I then rinsed them off and patted my feet dry. What a difference to my feet this scrub made, it left them feeling soft and smooth and I felt very relaxed afterwards! I highly recommend using this scrub after a long day at work!

9. by nature Peppermint + Aloe Vera Softening Foot Balm

The last and the largest item in the January foot themed box is a foot lotion by NZ company, 'by nature'. The key ingredients in this foot balm are Active Manuka Honey, Aloe Vera, Peppermint Oil and Vitamins A, C & E. The scent of peppermint is quite strong and I found this lotion to be soothing and cooling on my feet. I'm enjoying my feet smelling like candy canes and this balm is perfect to apply after using your Linden Leaves Foot Scrub! I'm also surprised at how affordable this large tube of foot balm is and I've yet to be disappointed with the range of products I've used from 'by nature'.

Verdict: I always have a good peek into my boxes before reviewing them, and when I first looked at this box, I wasn't too excited and didn't see myself wanting to use these products as I haven't been too fussed on foot care products before. But I ended up thoroughly enjoying this box and felt I had a good pampering session as I got to indulge my feet and hands with some fab cruelty free products, munch on some yummy cookies and feel empowered with the latest issue of NEXT!
