My Treat 'December Body + Underwear' Box

This here, is the last box for 2017 by NZ subscription box company 'My Treat', and it contained a mix of goodies to help me relax during the mad rush that was Christmas. There are three different boxes you can subscribe to, with this one being the 'Body & Underwear' Box, which is $44.95 NZD per month along with $2.50 shipping. The December box didn't have a theme and had a bit of a random mix of beauty products. As always, I received two pairs of underwear and a total of six different products.

1. Authentic American Heritage Intimates Underwear

This month's box included two really fun, casual pairs of underwear, with this pair by a brand that hasn't been included before, Authentic American Heritage. This bikini style pair is my fave out of the two, as I adore pastel colours, and the pink and blue marble effect makes for one super cute pair of underwear!

2. White Loofah Shower Sponge

This might look like a simple, everyday item, but I'm grateful that this loofah was included in the December box! A new shower loofah is one item that I always forget to buy even though it's one thing that I use on the daily and need in my life as they make shower gels actually lather up and make one dollop go much further. One of the reasons I love getting a monthly box from My Treat is that they send you beauty essentials such as razors, loofahs, and of course, underwear! (Note, shower loofahs can home bacteria, so you really should be replacing yours every 8 weeks).

3. Kiwifruit Soap

I'm slightly obsessed with soap, so I was delighted to see two pieces of kiwifruit soap that are perfect for my hand basin. The scent of kiwifruit has been overpowered by the Nag Champa, but I'm liking the incense scented soap. These pieces did come naked and with no information, so I'm unsure as to who they were made by, but I'm assuming that they are local and know that My Treat uses only cruelty-free brands in their boxes.

4. NV Chunky Crayon

My Treat has included several NV products in their boxes over the past few months, and this product here is a chunky bronze eye crayon. So far, the only NV product that has impressed me is the Felt Tip Eyeliner Pen that was included in the October box, and which I do use regularly.

The chunky crayon was easy to swatch and is relatively well pigmented, but I wasn't a fan of how it looked on my eyes. This eye crayon is quite creamy, so I can't see it staying on my lids for very long unless you also use a powder, and I just don't really like how it looks more like an orange-bronze on my lids, I think I would have liked this product if it came in gold rather than bronze, and this is the only product I wasn't a fan of in the December box. However, I do love makeup and the fact that My Treat does include makeup products in their boxes, so I'm excited to see more makeup from different brands in their future boxes.

4. Pink & Gray Striped Underwear

The second pair of underwear is unbranded and is in a playful bikini-style, with gray and white stripes and hot pink lining. When I open my underwear drawer now, I have a rainbow of colours and a variety of patterns and styles to choose from thanks to My Treat! One of the perks of an underwear subscription is that I receive fun underwear in different styles that I love but wouldn't have necessarily chosen myself if I went lingerie shopping,

5. Nag Champa Incense

Nag Champa incense sticks have been one of my favourites for years, so of course I was happy to see these included in the December box. I've never received incense sticks in a subscription box before, so it's great that My Treat pulls out some quite random surprises every now and again. And when I opened up the box I found a little sample box of a different incense by Indian incense company, Satya Sai Baba. All of the items in this box smell like incense but you can't complain about having Nag Champa scented soap and underwear as it smells divine!

6. BioTraitement BB Oil Luxury Infusion

First off, the packaging of this product is gorgeous, and second, this BB Oil has the most addictive and beautiful scent! BioTraitement products are made by Italian brand, Brelil Professional, and this does look, smell and feel like a luxury product with its ten oils and ten different uses. The oils used are: Apricot Kernel Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Macadamia Oil, Argan Oil, Sweet Brier Oil, Camelia Oil, Monoi Oil, Corn Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Sunflower Oil. You can pretty much use this oil anywhere on your body including your hair, and after smelling this oil, you will want to use it literally everywhere. I've actually tried this out on one of my tattoos, which really made tattoo pop and look vibrant. I'll probably also use this as a massage oil before going to sleep.

7. Living Nature Deep Cleansing Mask

The final and most expensive item I received was this box of ten individual face masks for oily to normal skin, by NZ brand Living Nature. The core ingredients for this mask are Halloysite clay and Manuka extract which help purify skin. You are meant to use this mask once a week, so one box will last you a decent ten weeks. This mask does have a slightly odd, slightly lemony scent, which made one of my cats run away from me in disgust. It does have quite a thin consistency compared to other masks I've tried, and quickly dries on your skin. Instructions do state to leave it on for 20 minutes which I struggled with as I'm blind as a bat and have to remove my glasses when using a face mask. After removing the mask with warm water, my skin felt baby smooth and I found that this did a wonder on my pores!

Verdict: Another solid box from My Treat that contained a real variety of items that you wouldn't necessarily expect or think to buy yourself! My Treat has made my year better with their monthly box of pampering surprises and have helped me to take time out to relax and care for myself, and I'm really excited for what My Treat brings to their subscribers over the months of 2018. Every now and again, you do get an item that you might not really like personally (which you can always gift to someone else), but the majority of the products are amazing and you do get a lot for your money!
