My Treat 'September Body + Underwear' Box

My third box from My Treat is impressive with it's array of gorgeous beauty products and includes an extra pair of underwear to celebrate My Treat's first birthday! There are three different boxes you can subscribe to, with this one being the 'Body & Underwear' Box, which is $44.95 NZD per month along with $2.50 shipping. In the September box I received three pairs of underwear and seven beauty treats, with all being full-sized this month. So far, this is my favourite box as it has a charming mix of face, tooth, hair, and body products. Below are the items I received.

1. Candie's Underwear

I initially didn't like the colours on this underwear but this pair has grown on me. Khaki and gray aren't what I would call sexy colours, but paired with the lace sides and the black bow, this bikini-style underwear does look quite cute and fun. It does fit me but it does sit a bit lower on my hips than I'm used to. The body of this underwear is made from polyester and looks and feels of high quality. I have yet to receive a pair from My Treat that looks and feels cheap so rest assured, if you subscribe to My Treat, you can look forward to underwear that was chosen with thought.

2. De Lorenzo Equilibrium Deep Repair Treatment Mask

The packaging of this hair mask is simple but beautiful and the scent of this mask is absolutely divine with ingredients such as organic rosehip and oat peptides! I haven't used any De Lorenzo products before but I've read and heard good things so I was looking forward to trying this and my hair always appreciates a good treatment. Instructions state to apply this to towel-dried hair, leave for 5-10 minutes and then rinse well. I did very lazily towel-dry my hair before applying this, left it on for ten minutes, and then jumped in the shower. This mask is quite thick and you should be able to get two treatments out of this 30g tube. My hair did feel very soft afterwards and I would purchase a large tub of this to use once or twice a week. As it is quite moisturising, in the future I would only apply it from the middle to the ends of my hair.

3. Quick Fix Facials Purifying Charcoal Mask

I have used plenty of face masks in my time, and not often do I use face masks by other brands so it was interesting to try this charcoal mask. And as the fresh face masks that I tend to use from LUSH are in black pots and are kept in the fridge, it felt a bit alien to me applying a mask from a tube and that doesn't feel cold on my face. I haven't heard of this brand before, but Quick Fix are an English company. This mask is meant to help clear pores and free the skin of toxins and impurities. Two of the highlighted ingredients in this mask are dragon fruit which is full of Vitamin C and moisturizes the skin, and cinnamon extract, which has antiseptic properties to clear the skin. You are meant to use this mask once or week or when needed, and leave on for 5-10 minutes before removing with warm water. I applied a warm flannel to my face first to open up my pores before applying the mask, as recommended on the packaging. This bubblegum scented mask has a smooth texture so I wasn't sure how exfoliating it would be. My skin was thankful for a good clean but I much prefer a good cleanser then to using masks so I think I'll be gifting this mask to a friend.

4. Olive lite + active 100% natural lip gloss

This lip gloss by New Zealand brand Olive was another dazzling product included in this month's box. I like how this gloss has no scent and is in a squeeze-tube with a wand attached for simple application. As the name states, this is a light gloss which I really like as there's nothing worse than thick and sticky lip gloss. This gloss does not colour your lips which is great, stayed on for about half an hour and will become a handbag staple.

5. Candie's Camo Hipster Underwear

Anything that is camo is not my thing, so I wasn't sure how I felt about this underwear. Again, this pair does sit a bit lower on the hips and the colours are similar to the first pair I received. The body of this underwear is polyester and the lace is nylon. My underwear drawer definitely has an eclectic mix of funky styles, fabrics, and patterns thanks to My Treat which gives me more variety and fun when picking and pairing outfits to underwear.

6. toothcrush Bamboo Toothbrush

One of my favourite items in the September box is this bamboo toothbrush and the charcoal toothpaste to match. toothcrush is a New Zealand subscription company that sends you a monthly bamboo toothbrush and this is such a great and green idea as these toothbrushes are biodegradable unlike your plastic supermarket toothbrush. A subscription from toothcrush will cost you $40 per year for a monthly delivery.

I normally use an electric toothbrush so it was a different experience using a brush that relies on my hand motion. The head of this toothbrush has quite soft bristles so this is a good option for people that have sensitive teeth and gums. It will take a while to get used to using this toothbrush, especially as the head is a lot softer than my usual brush heads, but I wouldn't rule out using this instead of an electric toothbrush with it's plastic replacement heads, as this toothbrush is a more sustainable option and also supports a business within NZ.

7. Comme.Co Charcoal Dental Powder

To accompany the bamboo toothbrush was this sachet of Charcoal Dental Powder by Comme.Co! This powder is formulated to whiten your teeth and my teeth need a good whitening so I'm excited to try this. The main ingredients in the Comme.Co Charcoal Dental Powder are: Sodium Bicarbonate which is alkaline rich and balances mouth pH, Bentonite Clay which is remineralizing and detoxifying, Activated Coconut Charcoal which removes stains and assists in teeth whitening, and Cinammon Powder & Clove Powder which are naturally antibacterial. You get 14 brushes per packet and should be used once daily along with your regular toothpaste. To use, I dipped my bamboo brush into the powder, but make sure that your brush is dry to avoid bacteria growth in the packet. I then brushed for a couple minutes then rinsed. It does make a bit of a mess in your sink but it's easy to clean up and doesn't stain. My teeth felt clean afterwards and I was pretty convinced that my teeth looked a little bit whiter than they do after a brush with my regular toothpaste, so this is a product that I'll definitely be investing in.

8. Skin To Skin Turquoise Underwear

For me, this is the cutest of the three pairs of underwear in this box! Turquoise is such a beautiful colour and really pops against tanned skin. The body of this underwear is polyamid and it sits high on my hips and is fuller around the bum which I find makes a pair super comfortable. I have a black pair of underwear by Skin to Skin from a My Treat sample box, and that pair and this one are my faves so far.

9. Roxy Raspberry - Black Raspberry and Vanilla Sugar Scrub by Soap Opera

The two products by New Zealand company Soap Opera are my winners in this month's box. This sugar scrub with ten sugar cubes is yummy with it's raspberry lemonade scent! I cherish my shower time and love trying out new bathroom products. Take one cube in the shower with you, crumble it in your hands under the water and rub all over yourself for a sweet smelling exfoliation.

10. Detox Soap by Soap Opera

You can see a bit of a charcoal theme in this month's box with this being my third charcoal fueled product. This facial soap has quite a strong tea tree smell and it's strangely addictive. I took this into the shower with me along with my sugar cubes and rubbed the bar on my face and boy did my face love this soap. It's didn't feel exfoliating while using it but afterwards my skin felt unbelievably soft and smooth and I would recommend this facial bar to anyone with oily skin and at $7.90, one of these bars is such a worthwhile purchase!
