My Treat 'July Body + Underwear Box'
This review for the July My Treat Box is beyond overdue! I've been super busy with work and have had some health issues so it can be quite hard to find the time to write reviews when you just come home exhausted at the end of your day. But I really need to get back into it since I have three gorgeous boxes from My Treat that I need to write about! After getting a taste of My Treat from one of their sample boxes, I decided to sign up for a three month subscription to the 'Body + Underwear' Box which is $44.95 NZD per month along with $2.50 shipping. In the July box I received two pairs of underwear and seven beauty treats, some full-sized and some sample-sized. Below are the items I received.
1. Hanes Underwear
I really love this pastel coloured, stripy lace underwear which is my favourite item in the July box. This underwear is cute, comfortable, of good quality, and fits perfectly! Getting surprise underwear monthly is delightful and is such a fun, girly present to gift yourself. Light blue and gold work so well together and the lace work on this pair is very pretty and intricate.
2. Freeman Polishing Charcoal + Black Sugar Gel Mask + Scrub (sample size)
This charcoal face mask sample came in my sample box so I'm just going to link my previous review of this. If you want to read more about it you can check it out here: https://www.subscriptionfixation.com/single-post/2017/07/28/My-Treat-Sample-Box
Price: You're looking at around $10 for a full sized tube of this mask.
3. NV Eyeshadow in Cobalt
This definitely isn't what I would call a cobalt shade but it is a lovely deep purple eye shadow. I usually tend to stick to browns and golds as I have a warmer skin tone, so this shade isn't one that I would wear on the regular. This eye shadow comes in a compact case with a hidden compartment that contains a mirror and a tiny applicator.
I do like the compact size of this eye shadow but the applicator sponge is a bit too tiny to use so I had to use my own brush when applying it. Application of this eye shadow was smooth and on my eyelid it looks more violet than bright purple which I prefer. This shade does suit darker skin tones and would look great with a bit of gold shadow also.
4. Wooden Emery Board
This handy little wooden paddle nail file is the perfect size to slip into your handbag. It's light weight and is also double-sided. There's no branding on it so there's no other info to provide. I also received this in my sample box so now I have one for myself and one I can gift to someone.
5. Schick Hydro Silk Disposables
Schick is a well known brand and I've used the Hydro Silk Disposables in the past so I was happy to get these in the July box. Also, razors and their blades are not cheap so this was a really useful item for My Treat to include and I'm sure that most subscribers were happy to get these and not have to include razors in their next supermarket visit. One of the great things about these razors is that you don't have to use shaving cream and the blades are curved which makes shaving a breeze. These are good for in-shower shaving and they don't irritate my skin.

6. T2 Sencha Organic Green Tea Sample Bag
I'm a big tea drinker and this sample of green tea was a welcome addition to my box. I usually drink loose leaf tea so this will be my first T2 pyramid tea bag taster. I have yet to try it though as I have about thirty different kinds of tea in my pantry to get through. This Chinese brew has a floral aroma and is meant to have a sweet aftertaste which I'm looking forward to drinking as I'm not the biggest fan of bitter teas. So far, I'm enjoying the variety of items that My Treat provides!

7. Candie's Lace Underwear
Cheeky style underwear isn't my usual style as I tend to wear briefs, but these are really gorgeous and are incredibly soft! After trying these on, I found that they look good but do sit a bit too low on my hips and feel a bit tight on my bum.

8. Angel En Provence Shampoo & Conditioner Samples
My third sample in the July My Treat box are these shampoo and conditioner sachets. I haven't heard of this brand before and haven't seen their products in salons but I have read some good reviews so I'm looking forward to trying them out, especially as their range is free from SLS and parabens and is cruelty free.
The packet on the left is for coloured hair and contains a sample of 'Orange Flower Shining Colour Shampoo' and 'Orange Flower Protect Hair Mask'. The packet on the right is for dry/damaged hair and contains a sample of 'Helichrysum Revitalizing Shampoo' and 'Helichrysum Revitalizing Conditioner'. Each sample packet is 8ml and is more than enough for a single wash and I like how two different samples were included. I'll probably gift the samples for coloured hair as I don't get my hair dyed but I did use the samples for damaged hair and found that my hair was very soft even after straightening it and the samples has a very floral scent which was divine! I'll definitely being looking to buy some full sized bottles of the 'Helichrysum Revitalizing Shampoo & Conditioner'.
9. Olive Relaxing Gift Pack
I adore gift sets and packs, actually anything with more than one item in it, so this box of relaxing treats was a lovely surprise in this month's box! The Olive Skincare range was created by a New Zealand based company at the Simunovich Olive Estate here in NZ. It's really nice to see that My Treat includes products that are natural and supports NZ brands. The Olive range is free from silicones, mineral oils, and parabens, and is also cruelty free.
The first bottle is a 'Refreshing Bubble Bath' that contains pure olive leaf extract, pink grapefruit oil and balm mint, so you'll be feeling incredibly moisturised after jumping out of the bath with these ingredients. This bubble bath has a light and calming scent and I'll be mixing this with a bath bomb next time I have a bath. I have a lot of bath products so it might take me a little while before I get around to using this. The second bottle in the pack is '100% Natural Massage Oil', and contains pure olive leaf extract, rosehip, sweet almond and grape seed oils. I tend to use massage bars but this has a gorgeous smell and is moisturising without being super greasy.
Verdict: I think $44.95 per month is a fair price for this box as you're getting two pairs of good quality and gorgeous underwear, along with a variety of different beauty products that will surprise you, delight you, and leave you feeling pampered. So far, I've liked most of the items, and I've had a peek at my two other boxes that are lined up to review next, and they just keep getting better, so you can be assured that My Treat are constantly striving to make each box more beautiful than the last.
